I sold my msi x370 gaming pro carbon and want a good x470 for future upgrades also have a 1700x to go in it

Definitely Taichi or Crosshair, both the best AM4 motherboards. Get the cheapest of the two.

Wait what? ASRock has been horrible on BIOS updates.

If you're buying AM4 X470 boards, stick to MSI or ASUS, in that order.

Taichi has a July BIOS update and it will run Flare X just fine at that speed. Not sure what else the OP needs...
