Currently in a 1 floor 1br house with my fiancé, but it's older with tons of plaster. I have a TP Link AC1750 with about 240mbs internet from Comcast. So I don't need anything super high speed, but the issue is the router is in the office and her computer is on the other side of the house and can barely connect + get decent speeds. Was thinking of going 2 piece mesh but there's just a ton of mesh options out there. I'd also need something with a few ports as I have some other devices hooked to my router (TV, PS4, etc) and most of the cheaper meshes don't have many connections.

Any suggestions?

Did you find something yet?

I can't compare to other competitors, but 2 friends each have the Ubiquiti Amplifi system and are very happy with it.
The router is also an antenna giving you up to 3 antenna's. The 2 dedicated antenna's simply plug into an open outlet and auto pair with the router or the other antenna depending on your configuration. Note on the daisy chain of antenna's is that you will drastically lose speed at the end of said chain.
The router does have a 4 port hub which I think is in line with most router options. It also looks much nicer, could be a clock, than a lot of routers that now looks like spiders with all their antenna's sticking out.

They are a little pricey, but for a full system, I think you would come out even or ahead if you bought repeaters. Both of my friends had spent many hundreds, if not thousands trying to fix their WIFI coverage. This solved their problems.

Standard System ($340) (Note: you will probably not receive the antenna in the picture. They will be white but look like the gamer edition)

Gamer Edition (Black) ($380)

Those are likely overkill for a smaller house but would be great for the future too. If you don't need wifi everywhere, what about those powerline extenders? I've not used them personally but have seen people recommend them.

I actually did! I got the Asus AX5700 Gaming Router which made substantial gains for my fiance's computer across the house (went from like barely 10mbs to just under 200mbs, which our max speed is 220mbs). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08BJHS3X7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

After researching a bit more, mesh would definitely be overkill, plus I have a few devices hooked up to my router (TV, NAS, PS4, etc) so a lot of mesh devices didn't have a lot of ports on the back of the router which is unfortunate.
