I just got all my stuff from newegg.com and performance-pcs.com and am eager to get building. My wifes uncle is coming over because he has some limited experience in replacing computer components and I have never built one.
Anyway, I bought some AS-5 and noticed there is a thermal "pad" on the bottom of the stock P4 heatsink. I should take this off since I will be applying the AS-5 correct? What is the best way to get it off?
Also any general building tips you guys might have I would really appreciate. We are going to start in about 3 hrs or so. I am going to go read the builders write-up in the sticky (again) right now.
Thanks for the help, I will post pics when it is all done, should look really nice!
BTW here are the specs:
PC-65B (black) w/120mm side intake
Gigabyte 1100 875 MB
1GB Crucial DDR400
3.0C P4
9800 AIW
SB Audigy 2ZS Platinum
22" NEC 2141SB-BK
Klipsh Pro-Media 5.1 Ultras
5.25" Nexus Fan Contoller
16x Lite-On DVD
52x-32-52 Lite-On CD-RW
3.5" floppy
2 UV CC's
Bunch of lighted fans, lighted widow applique and a custom Antec True480 PS
Prob some other stuff I am forgetting...
Thanks for the help in advance...I can't wait! Upgrading from a PIII 600 laptop!
