I have 2 drives, 1 640GB and 1 320GB. Right now I am running a dual boot with vista on the 320gb drive and windows 7 on a small partition (120gb) on the 640GB drive. I want to get rid of vista and put windows 7 on the 320GB drive by itself and use the 640GB drive for just storage. Is there an easy way to just copy the entire partition over to the 320GB and not mess up the boot record or anything? thanks in advance!

You can boot off of a gparted live cd to copy the partition and resize it to the size of the full disk.
You may need to fix the mbr after this operation though. I know there are recovery options on the windows xp cd and im sure windows 7 disk has its own recovery options but I havent had to try them yet.

You need to treat the 320GB drive as a brand new drive, move/clone your OS to that drive, and expand your OS partition to the entire disc.

I know there are various free utilities that can accomplish these tasks but I would use Acronis True Image.

It'll do it all in one operation.
