Hello All,

I'm wondering what the best way to join Aluminum to Aluminum is, while maintaining good thermal properties.

I am well aware that you can't solder aluminum.

I was wondering if those Aluminum braising rods would do a better job than Thermal Epoxy.

I also have a sizable amount of Gallium on hand, which I know amalgamates Aluminum. I was wondering if that could work.

Any input?

Cheers!

Gallium is a bad idea since galvanic corrosion would continue until the parts are destroyed.

Who told you aluminum cannot be soldered? Rapid aluminum oxide layer formation is your main enemy. Therefore strong flux is required. And you must know what you are working with. 100% pure aluminum, or an alloy. If so which one?

What are the parts to be married?

Either find a local welding shop to tig weld it if you need the weld to be strong or can try soldering like in this video.
