Best way (cheapest) to get Over the Air HD on my LCD TV? Details inside.

I have this tv:
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LN-R2...id=1165604034/ref=sr_11_1/103-9569610-6899032

It doesn't have a built in HD tuner, and I need a cheap solution to get those basic HD channels over the air.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

It's all depend where you live and if your area is capable of picking up HD OTA channels. You're gonna need to buy a decent antenna(outside or inside). It's a wrong forum to ask about that here.

No, an antenna won't do anything for a HD ready LCD, only one with a built in tuner. You'll need to buy a receiver / external tuner that supports HD.

Buy an old DirecTV high def box with an OTA antenna port. No directv required.

Alternatives include building a HTPC with a component out video card and a HDTV tuner.

That's some really good advice... think ebay is the best place? Sorry for all of the lame questions.

Before you waste your time. You haven't told us where you live. US or Canada and where? You have to know that you live in an area that you'll be getting OTA HD channels.

Assuming you are in an area that can receive OTA HDTV signals, you need two pieces of hardware for your computer:
- an HDTV antenna and
- an HDTV tuner card

A highly recommended indoor antenna is the Phillips Silver Sensor indoor HDTV antenna. You need to do a lot of research to determine how far you are from the relevant broadcasting stations and therefore what type of antenna you need to get the signals.

A highly recommended HDTV tuner card is the FusionHDTV5 card. For more advanced recording and configuration options you could purchase Beyond TV software.

This should get you going.
