My 1155 took a dump. Started just once with the Tri-fire setup and then it went dead.

Now that I'm upgrading, I might as well refresh the setup. I'm looking at a 4930k with a Gigabyte X79 board UP4 board.

Is this a decent board? I'm not going to buy a Asus Rampage 4 Black just due to the cost. If the cost of this board comes down, I would consider it. Reviews are telling me the firmware is the worst on this. I may run this for a week or so and decide if the RIVBE is worth it.

I usually have a ton of excel sheets running so it's mainly used for productivity during the day. At night, I play my games with full eyecandy if possible. Thanks.

That's a really nice board. I might pick this board over the RIVBE because of the x16 support for multi card setups. I would like to have RAID as well like the one that came on RIVE.

Luckily, I can use all some of my old equipment with the new setup.

X79-deluxe. Love this board. Supports tri cards and looks really good. Stay off the gigabyte there vrm cooling sux.
