best setup for second monitor for laptop

Im looking to install a second monitor to use with my laptop in signature. Im looking around to try to find the best setup but nothing seems ''perfect''

anyone got an idea of how i could install this? or picture
 
This is my wife's setup for FFXIV. She didn't want a second display until I plopped that Eizo down on her desk and made her try it. Now she's a firm believer in multidesktop. She uses the 24" to play the game, and uses the laptop as a browser, but both displays run just fine off her GTX 765M
