Contrast in the 4000s easily but (as expected) noticeable weakness in pixel responsiveness.
I noticed that the color gamut on the one PCM reviewed is smaller than the one of the playwares review. Otherwise the results across both reviews are pretty similar and both of them are have a glossy coating.
The subpixels look similar to those of the older (2011-2012) AMVA monitors. This gen of VA is still used in Televisions occasionally. Seems the Panda panel is based on this or a similar matrix.

This LG 32GK850G looks great, but for me 24" 1080p would be ideal for framerates and PPI.
I'm not interested in any current Samsung VA's, I have a C24FG70.
The LG's overall uniformity/QC, overdrive, extra hz, extra contrast, and GSync would all be welcome improvements. Just needs some proper HDR and youre pretty much set til OLED if its the size/res/PPI you want

Oh god I just got a stupid idea but it might be a perfect solution...
What if I just get the 32" LG and run 1920x1080 with 1:1 pixel mapping?
1440p 32" has the same PPI as 1080p 24" and this is what it would look like:

I could just carve out the 1080p 24"~ monitor I want.
Would there be any downsides or problems from doing this?

1:1 doesn't add any input lag so no downsides.

I don't see why not, but if I were you I'd just simply push the monitor back a bit.

I want to keep running 1080p for the framerate and besides the issue of 1080p on 32" there's also the 2560x1440 native res right?
Running a non-native resolution isn't the best idea from what I've been reading and 1:1 seems to avoid that

Yeah I meant running at 1440p and pushing the monitor back a bit, but if framerates are a problem then its bad.

But its a nice solution still, you can run 24" 1080p on a quality VA panel now, and later if you upgrade the GPU, you can just set it in full 31.5" 1440p.

Every previous attempt at 144Hz+ VAs without ULMB failed, this display only gives a boner to Gsync fans, and i can think of a handful of gsync displays that i would consider before a 2560x1440 Va.

I wonder what panel is being used on the new Benq GW2470ML...

Still the M238HVN01.0 I guess. The other versions are all borderless/snb.
There's also a version 1.6 panel part with dci-p3 gamut, basically a smaller version of the BenQ EW277HDR panel, but no display is using it so far
 
Specwise it seems pretty identical to the GW2470HM (except for low blue light mode+ or something like that). Made me think it was meant to replace the latter, making me hope for an updated panel.

I don't consider CHG70 motion clarity a "fail" even without strobing mode, it was fine. 10ms improvement in the dips compared to the Eizo 120Hz VA. What was not fine, is the massive uniformity problems in sub 50% grey, essentially making the monitor look like someone slapped a horrible wavy plastic sheet on it. Or the small black viewing angles giving it an "IPS glow". 32GK850G seems to fix those, and on top of that pretty much guarantee no BLB while providing even better contrast for much superior dark content/grey content reproduction. You don't care about those?

It seems to be the very first high resolution/high refresh monitor with a normal QC. I hope the LG 32GK850G is paving the way for quality gaming monitors, and the QC won't drop with the worldwide release.

Not much point in taking pictures of VA monitors like this.
Obviously it will appear darker in the middle viewed straight on, all VAs will. Also with no explanation/complaints written and the very high contrast, lack of glow and HPs attention to quality on these models I am more inclined to believe it looks great in person compared to how this smartphone photo makes it seem

The 28'' uses an InnoLux VA panel, the 27'' an AUO panel part. The 28'' has higher contrast (measured over 5000:1 - way above spec) and an extended colour gamut. So if you want the deepest possible blacks, the 28'' is a better choice.
I believe the AG coating on the 27'' is a bit lighter though and it has better response time/latency. The InnoLux panels maybe have some really slow black to grey response times that weren't picked up in the review - but without any user impressions it is hard to say.
I'd give the 28 incher a shot first and if it turns out to have too much response time issues then swap it out for the 27''. You could also check out the BenQ EW277HDR which has a similar panel as the 27'' iiyama but also a wider color gamut like the 28'' panel.

There's a review for the E271i on hardware.info. It has strong viewing angles (even for IPS), which is the main advantage.
Also a low input lag and the response times are what you would expect from a regular 60Hz IPS.
Contrast is slightly above 900:1 and according to specs it covers around 90% of sRGB gamut.(and 65% AdobeRGB)
 
After reading some reviews it looks like X2888HS-B2 will be good choice. Any QHD (1440p) alternatives ? (maximum 28", because of my desk)
 
So benq is at home, working great, but anyone know where I find calibrated profile and settings ? Just to max out of it.

Also it is safe to overclock it for ex. 75hz ? If yes, how ?

so the Samsung C27HG70 is getting high praise here in this thread...I'm in the market for a new 27' IPS G-Sync monitor and it's the first I'm hearing about this Samsung model...reviews online are good but not amazing...why is it getting so much love here at [H]?...plus it's curved which is a negative in my eyes

Not sure I can get back to 60hz but I want at least decent picture quality with uniform backlight. Iiyama xb2483hsu-b2 was still the best monitor I've owned except bad ghosting

It's too big and way too expensive
You can make it a 23.6" 1080p monitor with 1:1 pixel mapping :p

But it's the only good one there is. Rest are filled with uniformity problems, PWM problems, clouding problems, BLB problems, glow problems...

Only a few review sites post calibrated profiles (maybe because the variance between monitors of the same models is often quite high). None of those tested the BenQ though. There is an official .inf with .icm profile here

It's usually safe to overclock all recent 60Hz FullHD panels up to 75-76Hz. The vast majority of 1080p and many 1440p panels even state it as such in their respective panel spec sheets under the input timing specifications as the maximum supported timings.
But whether the monitor manufacturer electronics and software allow it without any issues - that's a different story. The BenQ EW2750ZL (a predecessor model) allowed up to 77Hz without issues.
For Nvidia users just try to create a custom resolution, AMD users can resort to CRU (custom resolution utility). If it doesn't work immediately, it is possible try with reduced timing parameters.
Once a display accepts an overclocked refresh rate, it is also important to make sure it does not skip frames. (there are tests for that)

Anyone tested iiyama xb2483hsu B3?
I sold my b2 some time ago and I am going around with monitors ever since.
So I might indeed get b3 if they tweaked ghosting a bit or just some calibrated ips from dell but B2 was the best monitor I've had so far in my life aside from ghosting
 
No user here tested the B3 overdrive yet. But it has a new OSD with 3 Overdrive settings (Off,+1,+2). There is relatively little overshoot on the max +2 setting though, so it might be too weak.
It can get brighter than the B2 (~296cd/m²), out of box calibration is similar to the B2 (so rather shitty,especially gamma). Contrast same or marginally higher (3000-3200:1) Also it should support 75Hz out of the box. You're welcome to try and report your experience ;)
