I'm in the process of putting together a new build, and, as the title says, am looking for my best performance option in a video card for $350.00 or less. I would also prefer a quiet card, as it is for a quiet pc build.

My initial research makes this look like a pretty good deal:

Any comments, or other recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'd probably go with a GTX970 myself in that price range...unless you strongly dislike team green. 290X doesn't run cool enough for a quiet build where the GTX970 can be pretty quiet depending on the brand you get.

Shit didn't realize brand new 290xs were so cheap.

If you don't mind your pc running hot that card will be fine, but if you live in a warm climate I would recommend the 970 for a quiet/cool build also.

If I were you personally i would wait until the new 390x comes out in June, then buy a 980 cheap

OP get a Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X. the R9 290X is still handling the latest games at 1080p and 1440p pretty well. No weird VRAM partition. GTX 970 is showing frametime issues due to its VRAM partition in games like Rome Total War Atilla at even 1080p.

The Tri-X is one of the quietest cards.
