Hello what would be the best gpu upgrade from a 1070? I was thinking about a 5700, but should I be looking at other options?

27 inch 1080p 60 hz monitor and 24 inch 60hz monitor is what I game on with semi new titles
Thanks :)
Depending on your system, upgrading your cpu instead could yield a larger performance increase than a new video card, in particular if your cpu is the bottleneck. So if you have a cpu older than 8700k or 2700x I would spend on Cpu upgrade instead.

That 8320 is weak as hell. That's your problem. Once you get a 3600 you'll be in much better shape.
JohnRico i agree i have a 980ti and i was running it on a water cooled FX-8370 @4.8 and when i upgraded to 3800X i am getting MUCH better performance out of my card.

While I don't disagree, changing the CPU could be a lot more costly endeavor. For instance I'm kind of in a hardware bottleneck with my i5-4690k the only better CPU my mobo supports is the i7-4790k which may be a bit of an improvement with the extra threads but I don't think much unless I win the silicon lottery and can OC it a bunch, so any upgrade path for me would involve new mobo and CPU which would probably push me out of the $350 range (if this was me), of course rocking DDR3 memory also would mean that wouldn't transfer over either.

But in general, yeah if you have a CPU bottleneck with 1070 then upgrading the GPU isn't going to do much of anything

He has a 1600AF @ 4Ghz which is a rebadged 2600. That's going to make the GPU the limit in most all cases.

how is that working out for you? you like? :pompous:
I really like it so far except for the large faceplate. Seems to run quiet and the amd drivers installed flawlessly. So far no black screens with games I've tested. I'm pretty sure its a placebo effect, but for some reason csgo seems to look better on the new card lol.

Probably just the gamma cranked up makes it look good. ;)
How many hundreds of FPS are you gettting in CS:GO?

I haven't tried cranking up the frames yet in csgo. I left it capped at 60 fps because i was planning on getting a 144hz monitor after my old card sells.

I capped TF2 @ 120Hz (monitor max), it dips into the 90's occasionally. Same engine so just wondered.

Dell routinely sells the 5700XT for $350 with shipping. That’s a hard to pass up deal. I got one and it plays BFV, 4K ultra, at about 50 to 60 FPS with an 8086K.

It’s the stock blower model. Mine is in a HTPC that’s 10 feet away. It doesn’t bother me at that distance.

I just picked up a MSI 5700 xt Evoke yesterday for 399 Canadian. That is just a little over $300 USD. Same company has the 5700 xt Mech for $10 less. I doubt they ship to the US and no doubt you would get dinged with Duty anyway... but if your in Canada or live close to the border and a city with a Memory Express its a good deal.

Impossible to justify the price of a 5600 xt (or even a plain 5700) at that price.
