Best Mobo for Quad and 4 Dimms

Hey guys im getting rid of my p5wdh dlx asus and stepping up to a new chipset and brand. I just ordered another set of Crucial Ballistix PC6400 (2x1gb) so ill have 4 gigs total, need something that will run good with 4 dimms. Also I plan to get the Q6600 when they drop to $266-300 at the end of this month. Something that is slightly future proof. I'd like to stay away from ASUS.

So far these look interesting:

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3P

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R

Worth the extra $20 between the 2?

What are the differences besides the extra pci-e slot? I've heard 12-phase power. Not sure what else??

Overall im not sure what to go with.

The only difference I can find is in the configuration of the PCI-e slots

So if thinking of ever going Xfire with a couple of ATI cards (wow thats even hard to type considering how much the Nvidia 8800s are kicking ATI ) the "P" model would be preferred. If you have a lot of legacy PCI card the "R" with 3 PCI slots might be better.

So if you are just planning on running one video card and dont have a lot of other cards to plug in, go with the cheapest imo.

After comparing it to the highest end gigabyte models, it seems to be lacking, Quad BIOS, the 4 e-SATA2 Ports, and 12 Phase Power.

Are any of those features really worth the extra $$$?

Also from several people ive heard of most mobos not wanting to run with 4 dimms in them. Any issues with this mobo regarding that?

You've chosen really good components!!! If you go with 4 Dimms, try using Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR800 or DDR1006 (get them from mWave.com cheap) or, even better, try scoring some low latency Mushkin Black DDR1066 sticks.

Yeah I already have 2 sets of the Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 w/ D9GMH chips.
