If uniformity is a concern you may want to avoid curved displays. That's going to warp how images are perceived by you. I don't think you'll find any professional media editors using curved displays.

The image distortion only really occurs if you are off center of the display. Perfectly centered, you don't really see the curve. It was one of the first things I noticed about such displays. Sitting off to the sides can induce a "bow-tie" effect to the image.
