Best cooler for q6600

If he's never planning to overclock that quad, the stock Intel HSF will serve its purpose just fine for years to come - if he even owns or uses the quad that long.

But that Xigmatec one is getting some rave reviews everywhere, so if overclocking is on the agenda, and he's just looking for air cooling, that one just might be the one to get.

Well, its not exactly cheap but you did ask for the "best" cooler for a 6600 in your thread title so I thought that I would put in my $.02. The cooler that I use currently on my 6600 is the Noctua NH-U12P. The build quality is excellent, the installation is rather simple and it works great. Idle temps are around 33C and load gets to about 49C. Its very quiet also if thats something that you are concerned with. I would reccomend this cooler to anyone looking for a solid, good cooling, low noise solution. Oh ya, heres a link to a review:

Also, I bought mine from heatsinkfactory.com and they shipped fast and everything went real smooth so if you do decide to go with this hsf, they are a good company to deal with.
