I've had 2x 2TB 980 Pros for a bit over a year and haven't had any of the reported issues with them, I did update the firmware a few days ago however. Still, the WD is a good option for a PCIe Gen4 SSD from a reputable company if you're worried about the Samsung issues.
 
uOpt - It's marketing at it's finest.... the more meta words they can attach to a product the higher the hit rate when people search for anything "gaming". So very true that all SSDs are "gaming". Wouldn't want to game without one or 2... or 3...
Loving the prices approaching reasonable levels.
