It was the lowest I price I have seen so far for a non brick and mortar/no requirements. Good for folks who don't have a microcenter, even though I think this is the same price or lower at MC currently.

Looks like newegg too,

2600x for 169 on amazon, but I try not to spend too much with them

Links to lower prices in the discussion, not sure if I should just put them all here so I didn't.

$159 is the price of the 2600. I paid that a month ago. Are you thinking of the X?

Microcenter is no shipping, buying it there is my first choice.
The first gen Ryzen are too picky about ram, some of my ram won't run dual channel at all, and none of it will run at rated speeds on the first gen ryzens I have.
That's why I snagged a 2600, I think I made the deal out better in my head because we have a best buy credit card and got 20 off the purchase.

Newegg supposedly had a crazy combo for a 1700x + board for $149 but IDK when they listed it as it wasnt there last night and it was sold out when I checked at 7:30 am this morning.... Must've sold out immediately. https://www.newegg.com/Special/ShellShocker.aspx?cm_sp=Homepage_SS-_-P6_3878155-_-11232018&Index=6

Dang, I would have definitely jumped on that for my son.. currently trying to piece together a budget gaming rig for him for Christmas.

Any good combo deals like this going on with the 2600 or anything similar?

Saw an AMD 1600 for like $95 on one of the sites here a month ago, may want to wait for Monday to see what drops.

I'd like to know as well, I might go to Microcenter and grab the 1700x and a board, was like $170 after tax, but then I'd need a HSF and RAM, unsure what RAM to get, trying to go as cheap as possible. For HSF I'm just gonna grab the coolermaster hyper 212 EVO I think.

Did you miss the cheap as possible part?
What capacity are you searching for? Can look at the Ripjaws model and find similar parts in the 16gb for $119 [each 8gb stick then is ~$60]. For 2x16GB @ 3600ghz, $229 is very affordable.

It wasn't for me, but the person you quoted was trying to throw something together as cheap as possible. Not sure 32gb was necessary.

LOL my bad. I missed the fine print ;). Still not a terrible deal just not as good as the 1700 x
Yeah, I bought it. It's the same price but the 1700x doesn't come with a cooler, so at the end of the day it's a little cheaper...
