There are very few manufacturer's of high end panels (IPS technolog- They are LG/Phillips, NEC, Panasonic and Sharp).

Everybody outsources panel manufacturing from other companies. LG gets their $400 TV panels from Chi Mei. Sony gets many of their panels from Samsung and Chi Mei, Samsung makes some panels and buys some from CHI Mei

LG does _NOT_ put their high end panels in $400 TVs, they put them in $800 TVs.

Is Apple overpriced? Lots of people (not me) keep on buying their products. If you are so smart, then why don't _you_ start Golden Tiger computers, open a Golden Tiger store and start selling TigerPhones and TigerPads at half the price of Apple , (according to you these products will be easy to get because Apple is "Just a branding company" so their phones and pads should be easy to get). You'd make a fortune and then you could buy [H]ardOCP and start writing, so you could dazzle everyone with your brillance
