Best budget wireless router?

1. Many people like using the 3rd-party DD-WRT firmware as it has a bigger feature set than most routers' native firmware.

2. DD-WRT's FAQ recommends the Buffalo WHR G54s in two categories: (1) lowest-priced 100% compatible (2) best price/performance 100% compatible.

3. Others recommend the Buffalo products on their own merits. It might even be good enough to use with its native firmware; DD-WRT gives you a nice upgrade option if needed.

But I haven't used one myself yet.

For budget..combining current Pre-N/MIMO performance with "budget"...the Belkin Pre-N models are great. I think you can find them in the 75 dollar range..perhaps less by now.

WHR G54S is $39.

That Belkin Pre N uses channel bonding, right? I do remember than the Pre N is generally better than the draft N.

Yeah so far tests are proving so....the Airgo chipset has gone to generation 3 for Pre-N/MIMO..so has had time to mature. Draft-N is still going through the growing pains.
