Best Bang for the buck monitor for the guy with a small budget?

So what would be a decent monitor to upgrade from a 17' crt and not sacrifice quality from the upgrade? I really do not mind the resolution but it would be nice to have to save some space from that the crt takes up.

So what would be the logical buy for the following budgets?

$100-$150?
$150-$200?

I don't have one, but it sounds like, for under $200, delivered, that the 23.6" ASUS VH242H is a best value in your price range for that much desktop real estate.

Spend a little more and get the Dell 2209WA. I paid $230 with free shipping, you can not beat it with a stick.

I just read some reviews on it and seems like a solid monitor. So I added that to my look more into list.

One monitor I was looking at the past hour was the LG W2286L. Has anyone experienced or worked with this monitor yet? Seems good to me for computer and console use. Meaning the 2 HDMI ports, DVI/VGA.

As for the budget, Yea I agree with What well not on the dildo part, but I am gonna spread my budget a bit and see if i can get a decent monitor.
