BC2 / BF3 gtx 580 18c idle / 58c full load :) 107 kills Q9650 @ 4.3 vs 2600k @ 4.3

Did some cooling upgrades to my case, how do the results look?

Running BC2 with Max Settings 16xQ CSAA, HBAO ON and I'm getting 100% GPU usage

I did have the card running at 1000mhz and it was peaking at only 64c on full load after 2 hrs
in BC2, but had a CTD. Bumped it down to 890mhz and has been stable for 6hr non stop of
playing. Honostly don't see much fps difference from 890mhz to 1000mhz.

During the in-game BC2 stability testing my buddy went 107-3, was an epic run, I dodged about 80 at4's.

My buddy is running a i7 2600k @ 4.3ghz with the same gtx580, he is getting 40 more fps at
spawn then what I'm getting on my Q9650 @ 4.3ghz.

In BF3 metro I was getting 99% GPU usage, but caspian border the old Q9650 just couldn't
hang and GPU usage started to get lower due to CPU bottlenecking which caused for lower fps.

Will be interesting to see how the rest of the maps run Oct.25th, I have a feeling the larger maps are gonna cause some issues.

I'll be posting results comparing 2600k to Q9650. Both PC's running the same gtx580.

BC2 Settings 1600x1200 @ 100hz (amazing smooth feel with a solid 100fps on 100hz)...

My leet flying skills allow my friends to go 107-3...

You know, I thought exactly the same thing when I saw his username.

With a username like that, I'd need to keep it in a text file or something so I could copy/paste it.

Great temps,though.. I idle @ 50c on my 580... max temps: 85-90. 1900x1200.. I have a soundproofed Midi case though, sound absorbing foam isn't the best for keeping things cool.

Also, 58 C is getting a bit hot for my tastes.

You can type it in, I've got the ascii codes memorized alt+0167 = § and so on.

Mainly kidding, that temp on air is fairly decent.

I've run 4x GTX 580s at 1000Mhz core averaging ~17C temps under load.
