With bf3 it's not about the audio quality as what a usb dac would get you. It's the driver support. BF3 is paritcular about the audio stack drivers. The asus and creative cards at this time seem to be doing the best. I can't speak to the quality of drivers used with these usb dacs.

That too... those will have their own onboard sound chip so that will get you off realtek too.
 
BF3 has worked flawlessly with my onboard realtek for over a year now.....I must be lucky :).

sure on amazon, on the audio site I read about the HIFIMAN its the #1 recommended sound card in the price bracket below the FiiO.

we all know random anaonymous reviews on the internet from 'customers' are 100% trustworthy verses a pro review

99% of the problems seem to actually be realtek's based.

so maybe its not overall driver support, but realtek's lack there of?

I will snag a FiiO between now and the new year, and will let you know if it causes issues with BF3

Yeah, I'm hoping that fixes things. It would be nice to play BF3 with consistent audio. It's so frustrating when you play without sound and someone sneaks up on you/is firing at you and you don't notice because you can't hear it. Plus, I really enjoy the battle sound scapes! They make the game so much more immersive/epic.

Yeah, I run a GTX 670 as well. But previously I ran with a Radeon 6870, and still had the same issue. It has been persistent across separate clean windows installs, driver clean installs, config changes, system tweaks and pretty much everything else. It sucks.

MP443, there's only 3 difference between those guns. The MP443 bullets are 60m/s slower, it has 3 more bullets in the clip, and it's max range is 470m vs 580. Since pistols are mostly close range bullet speed for leading targets isn't a huge deal, and neither is that far of a max range, I'd take the 3 extra bullets in the clip. :)

Anyone have a problem where Close Quarters and Armored Kill are downloaded and installed every time I restart my PC? I have 30 down/ 5 up internet but still it's annoying. Origin needs a client update every time my PC is restarted also. Running Win 8 64 Pro w/ Media Center.

If you haven't already, I would completely uninstall origin and BF3, and re-install first and fore most, that is likely to fix issues of that nature. If that doesn't work, you have some deeper issue with your system. I also have Win 8 Pro x64 with MC, so I don't believe that's directly the cause.
 
The last assignment I need to finish them all before aftermath. I cannot get it.

Whats the best way to destroy enemy equipment with the EOD Bot? Ive gotten 1 in about 3 days worth of trying. I need 10...

Find those high player/ticket TDM servers and destroy tugs/spawn beacons. That's how I did mine. Either that or find a high ticket Caspian Border server and hunt around the tower for spawn beacons and tugs.
 
you guys should really grab a usb foot pedal, instant pullout and fire defib with your foot anyone?

made it do quick nades in doom 3 and i swear in BC2 cause so many buttons are being forced through it skips part of the defib animation, great for roll and cover in max payne 3, so many uses way better than some gimmicky gaming mouse
 
I've given up on some of those assignments, completing them is basically detrimental to game play anyway.

I just had a really good round, finished 2nd overall in points, winning in a 250 ticket RUSH defense of Karkand, combat was insane. 26-12 is like good for me though lol

However, when I check my stats page now, somehow my grenade kills, repairs, heals, tugs/mav spots, c4 kills... have ALL BEEN ZEROED WTF

Get a standalone sound card as I did and disable your onboard. I have a Asus DX PCIE and no more stupid hard crashes/reboots, etc! ;)

Is there any way to get rid of the jaggies in this game? The msaa has bugs, the fxaa is blurry, hbao is too dark. Is there an nvidia inspector tweak or something I can use?

Currently have all high settings, no blur, fxaa, no msaa no hbao. Game runs great but just seems too blurry at times. Especially at distance. Or is too bright or contrast seems off. I just can't get it sweet.

running a 2500k at 4.2 and a 670 mild oc. any faster and the game gets unstable. Just this game though Skyrim can be buggy but that is with a ton of mods.

Learn something new everyday. Too bad I can't straighten either foot enough to use it though. I drive with the side of my foot ha ha. Wonder if I mounted it on a stand of some sort I could tilt it to match my feet.

you can get single units, its actually cheaper to get 3 single units, i just didn't want to give up that many usb ports.

latest driver after testing found it was buggy, stay with the 5.1 driver.

you can set it up with string / or keyboard and mouse commands, i use 1 , 2 , ctrl + a, ctrl selects the weapons and "a" fires instantly, string is buggy and weird and never really got any good use out of it.

Bought the Premium Edition for $30. Played my first game, TDM on Kharg Island. Was pretty good until two pieces of shit on the opposing side pulled out the hacks and ran around insta-killing everyone. They were also able to jump from the water to the roof of the main building.

Online gaming...

IF you own bf3 DO NOT buy this thinking you can upgrade IT WILL NOT ALLOW IT
I used caps to be sure people read this.
It is the full game with expansions and 1 key <<<<<<<<< 1 key so the premium can not be used with your existing game.
This is a typical EA F U user looser.

you can buy the premium on amazon for $30, this was posted on official forms but I have not checked it personally.

Shot a tank last night with 3 tow rockets and it didn't even start smoking. WTF

The game seems to feel just like bf2, anything but infantry should be invulnerable.

you get 2 keys. game and premium expansions

so if you want it amazon has it now, WOW you get origin too LOL
 
Why does a stupid pop up asking me to buy premium keep coming up every time I play the game? I already bought premium, STOP ASKING ME!!!
 
So my first impressions, only 13 months after the game's release (lol).

There are some seriously dumb things in this game. Regenerating vehicle health = dumb. Free points for shooting at people and missing (providing someone else kills them) = dumb. Taking more damage from a six-foot-drop than from a round to the chest = dumb. The entire interface for load-outs = dumb.

Other than those little things, I am enjoying the game. The gun handling feels spot-on with what feels like the perfect amount of recoil to the weapons. The weapons look good and sound great. Killing enemy infantry doesn't feel too easy or too hard. There seems to be plenty of options for customising your load-out. Haven't tried many of the maps yet, but as long as I can stay away from Operation Metro I should be good.

Yeah, it'd be nice if the regen stuff was not around. Give us back the medic boxes / service stations at base. Make the vehicles out in the field either take a command post that has these services (lock it to flag owner) or utilize the support specialists.

Poor design.
