I had terrible network lag first try yesterday. Hope I can have better results today....all in all the game looks promising otherwise

Finally played tonight for about 30 minutes and agree, the quality of this beta is not a good look to sell the final product. I mean, no map? like common. let players know where to go. how is this suppose to attract buyers when a core feature is missing? also the respawn timer basically is, don't want to wait? hit space bar to respawn now. its in rough shape but theres alot to like. I see the potential and I don't think the changes would take long to do. Might save my key on cdkeys at release and buy ea play $5 month to try it, if its bad I'll refund my key. the release is going to be super interesting. the sprint speed is a little too fast. tactical sprint should have a limit.I mean...that's enough time I put in. I give the game a D+/C- for a beta. They didn't give us anything close to the retail game so what's the point of releasing this?
Anyway, I got it on GamePass so no dedicated funds for this game. I just don't think the game with it's current theme will get me to put in 300+ hours like BF3.
Lastly, I experienced a glitch at the loadout screen. All the character skins were visible from past BF games, about 8 of them. It happened right at the beta launch.
Been dying for this game, the last good Battlefield game to me was BF4.
Playing last night, very laggy and choppy. Graphics even at highest settings are nothing special. And this map is rather lame and just not holding my attention, don’t like the layout and big center area of map.
Anytime I’m in a vehicle, it’s blown up very quick. And snipers getting me a lot near the spawn bases, I walk out of the base, and pop killed by snipers
Seemed to be no real squad team play. Felt like everyone was solo.
I am very disappointed so far.

i believe in 15 1/2 hours. When beta finish? I ask because i dont know if is any sense to download that.
Yep. it seems like they're going to force this one.Holiday season is the reason. The amount of sales they’ll lose from people who decide not to buy it due to beta bugs pales in comparison to lost sales from releasing it after the holidays. Nothing new to see here, not with the timing of its release and not with a buggy BF game.

Try disabling nVidia Reflex in your graphics settings. I'm getting much smoother game play with it disabled.
I'm a huge Battlefield fan, but the last few games, BF5 and stuff we're rather poor and mediocre. And BF2042 isn't holding my excitement like I thought it would so far
"Unplayable" for six months isn't accurate, IMO. I played the game every day from launch forward at the time. But I know different people will have different tolerances. For the record, I waited 6 months to buy BF4 because it was unplayable until they began the CTE.
in-game settingsIs that in the BF game settings? Or nVidia Control Panel?
The game was completely different after CTE, I wasn't giving them any money until they fixed the game."Unplayable" for six months isn't accurate, IMO. I played the game every day from launch forward at the time. But I can see how different people have different tolerances for bugs, and another player would say it's "totally broken" even on some minor thing most people ignore or work around.
It had it's problems, no doubt. Crashed every 5th or 6th game in the middle of a round on Shanghai. But was still playable, and fun as hell.

Unplayable also means the game can't be enjoyed, which can be relative. But there are plenty of posts and videos of frustrated gamers during that time.
Once again you nailed it. I do like the chaotic aspect, but the incentive structure does feel like its been tilted away from teamplay - like revives, dropping medpacks or ammopacks (nobody does, ever) and seems to encourage a lonewolf meta.Same here, there's just nothing special about it. They killed the class system and this specialist system just makes the game even more of a lone wolf game as you can have a mish mash of weapons for practically any scenario. I don't get why they replaced the class system at all, they all had a purpose and a function, this really just smacks of dice changing something for the sake of changing it. All you see running about the map is multiple haggered old men or elderly females and it really looks strange. As said above the skins just do not look like a war game, they did the same thing with Battlefield V and it was much later in the games life that you could actually have skins that were proper army skins, only took months of complaints (yet again dice learns fuck all from previous games).
I just don't get what they're trying to do with this game, it's like they're scraping the barrel for ideas and killing the class system somehow seemed like a good idea, as well as slapping in a tornado thats a glorified elevator for infantry to fuck around with. I see this game launching as a giant clusterfuck, remember battlefield v was also delayed by a month and it was a buggy, unfinished piece of shit that had multiple features missing for over a year until they finally got patched in. For EA to claim in February this game was ahead of schedule to me is baffling considering what they released as a glorified demo.
That was your personal choice then to not play, and it's understandable. Videos of "frustrated gamers" mean little though because most are incapable of nuance. And all the other people finding enjoyment in a game aren't constantly posting videos about it.The game was completely different after CTE, I wasn't giving them any money until they fixed the game.

If good old conquest battlefield is in this bad of shape in the beta I wonder what portal and hazard zone are like. I won't be surprised if they announce those will be coming after release, which will be an instant refund for me. We haven't seen gameplay from either of those modes. I guess they are confident in the release build, reviews will be good and they will sell alot of copies for the holidays. I hope...Yep. it seems like they're going to force this one.
The skins are terrible, doesn't feel like war. It's like a weekend airsoft match with people that dressed up in tactical gear.
They should just release the beta with all the weapons, gadgets and skins unlocked, so we can see what's possible and how we want to configure our solider.
No beta for Hazard Zone and Portal? Man, if they don't delay this game until March-June it's going to be a disaster.

2042 needs CTE, not this Beta.

I still want to see all the maps and modes first before trying to judge the new system solely on one big conquest map.
This has been the case with literally every BF release. Every new iteration pushes even higher end hardware and it is one of the things people actually like about the franchise because you actually get something in return if you're able to feed it what it needs. This is especially true when a new release is also coupled with new more capable consoles as is the case here. 2042 has significantly larger maps and double the player count as the titles that came before it.The game is good and has a lot to offer but it is only for those who have the opportunity to play, high speed internet and for those with strong pc,
I agree. Thought it is a new game, people are messing around learning, and the map is new. I think the map itself is fairly lame. Vehicles only spawning at the HQ creates an odd flow. Unless I am missing something. I know you can call in transport vehicles but didn't seem to be able to call in tanks. I think the capture point based vehicle spawns worked better. I'm not 100% opposed to restricting weapons by class, but they removed most of the class incentives. Which makes the classes feel worthless. I'd be happy with the BF4 class restrictions which had a lot of leeway. Just allow PDW/SMGs for other classes aside from engineer and I'd be fine with that.
I've yet to see a tornado but don't want to. The few instances where there was some good gameplay flow might have been screwed up by the tornado.

The game is good and has a lot to offer but it is only for those who have the opportunity to play, high speed internet and for those with strong pc, European pc elite, who has 1050ti can forget about maps with 128 players, the minimal configuration is not holds water.
That is called "PC gaming". The best PC games have always pushed the limit. If you can't afford a mid to high end gaming PC there is this thing called a console.
I have a fairly high end PC; RTX-3080. 32GB DDR4. Solid state drive. i9-9900k. Playing on my 34” Ultrawide.
I have the game settings maxed out, and it just looks ok, nothing groundbreaking, or super amazing compared to previous Battlefield games. The graphics are good, but not jaw dropping or anything. At least on this one map in the beta, to me the game looks almost no different than BF4.
I also have high-speed Cable modem direct internet connection, and the game feels laggy and choppy network wise. But other games I play have very low latency and play smooth.
The power of a coordinated team and a "pro" BF heli pilot.
