It's why I tend to stay further back. I do really well unless I'm in close quarters, then yeah, I almost ALWAYS lose to shotguns or SMG's.

Picking people off before they see you is the key to the Medic class.
But when people turn their attention your way because of suppression, you won't land a shot.

It's frustrating to get the jump on a sniper, hit them once before they spot you, hit them again before they aim, but then die by one bullet from them because of the kind of rifle they have. It's WWI, nobody should be able to adsorb more than 2 bullets from any marksman rifle.

Yeah. Another reason I primarily stick to dom and rush. After the first week, snipers really seem to have died down on most of the maps except a couple. The one desert dom map that has the water tower and back ridge is always FILLED with snipers.

I like run and gun but also like healing and reviving, I find being able to heal yourself very useful when attacking a point as sometimes you may only have 4 or 5 seconds before your next engagement so healing up asap is vital.

I don't find them that troublesome, I hold a 1.6KD using mainly the ML sweeper and don't find I'm killed by a certain gun more than any other. Sure in a up close battle they will kill me but I try and engage in the mid ranges which is where the ML sweeper shines.
 
Wondering what kind of fuckery they are up to with the servers. I still have 8 hrs left on my $5. Really have not felt the desire to play on an EA server. This game needs admins and servers with a community to work right. Tired of random scrubs ruining the game with their clueless play styles.

Based on your input, we are changing the layout of the Suez map in Conquest to make the matches more balanced and the map size more fitting. Furthermore, we’re adding one armored vehicle to each team’s base to give dominated teams a better chance to quickly get across the map and capture a control point behind enemy lines.

NEW BATTLEFIELD 1 UPDATES COMING THIS MONTH

Starting to think they are not going to allow private servers? Is that crazy? I can't recall them holding the private option for this long previously.
 
i'm probably alone here but i like that Suez is only 3 flags. i like the change of pace from the other maps, and that it's more confined and you're continually facing the prospect of getting pinned back.

on an unrelated note: the Martini-Henry turns me into a giant hypocrite. it's a blast to use and also infuriating to be killed by :D

Got my rigotti scope for the medic class. Im gucci now. I can pop heads from a distance and drop a med pack to wait for the next victim. Thats what i wanted was a decent DMR. its usually 3-4 shots for a kill. 3 if im correct.
 
I suck. I still only make a handful of kills per round. I'm getting ready to give up. I don't know why I can't improve. Part of it *might* be I'm not used to the new mouse I'm using now vs the one I used to use.

That fair fight software was banning cheaters like crazy in the games I was in today, too.

Probably for that and a whole slew of other things. It's been brutal. I've been in situations where a dozen people get banned bam! bam! bam! just like that.
 
Yeah the fair fight ticker was constantly streaming last night. Nice to see.
 
I can't believe how so many ppl get banned. they pay $50 for a game then use cheats. there goes $50. they know its going to eventually get detected. the internet is weird.

I hope ea bans by mac and ip, but knowing ea I don't think they are smart enough.

I doubt there are many people who will spend 50 bucks twice to use cheats.

I remember when WarZ was at it's peak and you could get the game on Steam for like 10 bucks. MAN people would cheat, get banned, rebuy the game, cheat again, it was endless. Moral of the story - have a decent cheat engine and keep your game at 50 bucks as long as you can.

Does anyone know if the class level is capped at 10? My assualt and support class are both level 10 but they do not seem to progress futher. The progress bar does not fill at all but it shows the next level would be 11.
 
How's this game for casual players?

I've played a little bit of BF4 but I get smashed by people who seem to have amazing equipment that I can't unlock yet.

It's to be expected, but I just don't have the time to grind up the levels like I did when I was younger....

Since class rank 10 is the rank for the final weapon unlocks, yes. That's the cap, for now.
They'll more than likely raise the cap once the DLC drops and new weapons are added.


Chapeau Battlefield 1 is way easier. Have you played the new Battlefront ?
The two are near identical in terms of how the action and fighting happens. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, it's just that Battlefront and Battlefield 1 maps are more linear in my opinion than BF4. So it's definitely more casual.
 
Awesome news.... I have tried a bit of battlefront. It's kinda perfect as a casual gaming situation.

Ya battlefront had potential but they didn't do enough with it. Bf1 at least has a proper class selection and more than 10 guns to use.
 
finally hit the uninstall button. sadly. 98% of the games i've been in, aside from tdm, have been one team straight-up steamrolling the other... a fact not helped by players not defending and instead going to capture shit that will never be held. the game also began feeling very repetitive to me - much more than any previous bf title (and i've played mostly on since 1942). maybe the people saying it's much like a battlefront with a facelift are right. like Eshelmen said - it feels very linear and no longer dynamic. while i haven't touched battlefront, and don't plan to ever try it, i have never uninstalled a bf game after only two weeks. battlepacks are kind of a cheesy inclusion to me (i'd have preferred to have had different maps for different modes but suppose that was too much work for DICE/EA - could have even dropped the single-player campaign for this as who really is buying any bf title for that?), still chock full of people (as this thread testifies to) putting their k/d ratio up front (maybe why so many play scout), and sure there are weapon choices - yet in the end most are not competitive and are redundant while a fraction are what are used.

Interesting. My experience has been quite the opposite. Most rounds are within a couple hundred points, and many less than 100. I've had at least 3 rounds where it was a 1 point difference.

I have been steam rolled a few times, but every time that starts to happen I switch servers. Other times I give up and start dicking around, working on medals, or trying out new weapons.

I don't doubt it happens, as I suspect there is some fuckery going on with the matchmaking and team balancing system. I tend to be a bit more pro-active on my server choices, I don't hit the "Play Now!" option where it auto drops me into a server. I go pick one from the browser. I also tend to simply leave the server and find another one when it the balancer puts way too many idiots on one team.

I only play rush and dom and it does happen sometimes where my team will get buttraped like 13 to 100 and it's over. The upside is these matches usually last 10 minutes and if it's that savage they can be as short as 3-5 minutes. Honestly I've only played like 3 conquest maps since the game launched and I don't enjoy them the way I did BF3 which I almost exclusively played conquest.
 
I have zero sympathy for cheating morons. You go out of the way to spend extra on a cheat program, do you suck THAT much at the game? Not only should they get BF1 banned, they should be origin banned too. Worthless little turds.
 
I just wish they would go back to the style where you had to control majority of the points to gain tickets. The games are too quick now that you gain tickets without controlling the majority.

MAC and IP will do little they need to ban accounts all together. With that i am sure many of the cheaters are using stolen CC's or something to pay for the game anyways or stolen keys from a source.

Is this game worth $79? I looked awesome and i am really in need of a good FPS again and this looked like it would be pretty good.
 
Played operations for the first time. Everyone was a numb skull. Squads never worked together and would not align on objectives even if the dude was calling them. Got a lot of points though but I just did not feel the fun in operations. Will try some other matches to see if people actually come together in this game.

I am enjoying other modes like Conquest and Domination. Is it just me or is progression really slow in this one. I am only level 6 now after maybe about 3 hours of play.

cdkeys.com has it for $52. prices actually went up, I got it for $47 on oct 22

some like it some dont. I have rounds that are awesome. other times its just a cluster fuck. game mode, certain maps, and amount of players are a big part of whether I have a good experience or not.

I am Rank 28 with 28 hours of play time, I almost exclusively play Operations. You do get an absolute shit ton of points for Operations, especially when your team wins.

Anything that isn't within 100pts is a steamroll in practice. I've found that teamplay is nonexistent during primetime, but late sessions are much more interesting.

Damn. You're hard to please. :p The reason I state 200 point difference is somewhere around 100-200 triggers the behemoth depending on how much time is left or how many flags are capped. I've also seen a couple rounds where almost 200 points were caught up in the span of a few minutes simply from back capping by a few individuals.

FWIW, there is no defined number for "steamrolling". It's all relative to the individual. That being said, I can see why you would say 100 point difference.
