I am really curious as to what these sound like. It seems like they’d be perfect for activities where you need to hear your surroundings, like cycling around traffic.

Awesome.....dude pointing at his temple looks like a psychopathic version of this guy...but still neet....

At the beginning of the video they say this is the first product of its type and yet I remember years ago there was a similar product on the market.

Here it is.

"Audio Bone is a breakthrough in listening technology that allows you to hear stereo music without blocking your ears. Audio Bone transmits music through your bones directly to your inner ear – so you can still hear everything around you."

There are a number of hearing aides that are implanted directly into the skull as well, I assume they work in a similar fashion.

Maybe they mean they are the first to make a hifidelity product of this type.

First product of its type to attempt to capitalize on a trademarked comic book character.

Ever see people Bass Pumping in their cars where the windows move?

Wonder what happens to your head if you get these things cranked like that. Eye Balls popping out a bit?

;)

I have tried bone conducting stuff before, it all sounds like ass

Would leave big flat spots in the hair on the side of your head. No way I could wear this at work unless I never took it off.

Anyone seen this new TV series called "HUMANS" on AMC? [ http://www.personasynthetics.com/ ] The models used to wear the gear reminds me of these machines.

It gives me the impression that it will be used to send unsolicited & subliminal messages.

I would prefer a model around the back of the neck. In theory, it would work the same.

I like the idea of this, because it means if it's good enough, I can listen to quality music without messing up my hair. I love headphones, but it is a drawback :(

I had a pair of the AfterShokz headphones a few years ago, it wasn't all that great. It wasn't sweatproof like it was supposed to be and eventually shorted out, and was loud enough in the environment that you might as well just leave a pair of normal earphones out in the open. Doubt that will be any better.
