is the new crucial ballistix dual channel? i've got an amd64 3500 on the way with an asus AV8 delux and was wondering if i should go with the ballistix
If you get 2 sticks of the same stuff, then it is dual channel.
The memory itself, doesn't matter what brand, is not "dual channel" or "non-dual channel". It's completely up to the motherboard as to whether it'll run dual or not. There is no distinction with the memory, although some companies put a little sticker on the memory stick, package 2 sticks together, call it dual channel, then charge more for it. As long as you get 2 sticks of the Ballistix, each the same size (256 or 512 or 1Gig) and same speed (pc3200, pc3500, pc4000, etc.) then it will work. Just get 2 single sticks and save a few bucks.
