On May 14 I sold MyNameIsAlex an i7-5820K, Asus X99-A motherboard combo that was in pristine, fully functioning condition. I notice this evening that he has filed a Paypal dispute claiming that one of the ram slots isn't functioning. Mind you he does this without ever first contacting me here to discuss whatever perceived problem. This all smells of a scam return and I've expressed such with Paypal. He responds that I'll be forced to refund once he returns the items and threatens to open a thread here to try and discredit me. I've been a member here since 2009 and have a perfect 242-0-0 Heatware record. He just joined here in March 2019. I'm outraged that this guy can so easily file this claim to in all likelihood cost me $250 and the loss of a truly nice Cpu, mobo combo.

Why? If you message people directly, they will say 'Oh, the seller harrased me on hardfourm, he is scared to talk on official channels" or they will stall you for time to delay you opening the dispute. You gotta open the dispute one way or another to return the package, and the sooner you open it, the sooner tyou get your money back.

It's usually a mistake to wait to open the dispute, and I wouldn't recoomend it.

I mean, do your homework, his accounts are all relatively new it could be a few things, hes young or has bad history and makes new accounts. His heatware is clean but only 10-0, his ebay is fairly clean with one negative strike recently.

Gotta look before u sell to people, if he has such a new account why did u sell to him?

as far as u alex, u have the right to file a claim but dont be a dick about it is my advice, message a guy first and give him a day or so to respond, you have a whole open window of time to resolve this. its always possible ram isnt totally compatible, ive had parts of a kit work and parts not before for no reason, board and ram were both tested good but together was a no go.

Im just saying give a seller a chance to fix things before u file claims is fair. I always give a seller a chance to fix before I start leaving bad feedbacks

EDIT: looks like he pulled this same thing before on Reddit, claimed a seller sold him a bad combo and wouldn't take a return. Maybe this is a trend?

Not even a message to the guy to see if he'd make it right? You have the right to do what you've done, but that just seems like an extremely poor way to do business.

Reading the partial convo you two had, I don't know how you two still decided to do business with each other. Geebus.

As he has felt free to post Private Messages here's the whole thread involving the sale. Pay particular attention to where he says : "By the way- I assume you asked for F+F because youre afraid I will return the mobo after ramming my PC 133 memory inside the mobo and breaking it?

I admit I am idiot, but I am a methodical careful idiot who watches a lot of youtube vidoes and reads a lot of manuals before he touches a screwdriver, I wouldnt worry about it. "
