haven't touched this in a while. are the rush maps still fraught with snipers not pushing anything?

Unfortunately yes. At one pint was up to 7 snipers in AD.

They need to add a column where you can see clearly what classes are being played. I think that is part of the issue.People may not realize there are already 3+ snipers.
 
I've given up.

Now I just go recon, kill an engy with the CG and spam a lot.

What is SAD is this is STILL the game I play the most. Please something save me.


lol im waiting for the update on MWLL(mechwarrior living legends) then ill finally be able to completely forget about BFBC2.
 
How many times have you took a shot at someone at some crazy distance/angle/position and actually got the kill. Like I thought I saw a shots being fired from inside one of the buildings on Lagunda and i just popped a 870 shot over in the general area and got a kill.

I did this once with slugs, from a really long distance away, I randomly fired a shot off at a helicopter and actually nailed the pilot.

it could be. but it suffers the same problems BFBC2 suffers with devs going way to far with some of the changes they make. once it finally gets moved to crysis wars some time at the end of this year the game will be bad ass. because all the problems it suffers from now is due to cryteks piece of junk multiplayer engine in the original crysis.
 
They out to allow a system like in Day of Defeat where there are limited slots for each class, with a heavy emphasis on assualt.

theres a few games like that. but then you get people that bitch because they cant play the class they want to. its a system that there will always be some one thats not happy, which is why it never gets used. to bad the majority of players would be glad it existed. but of course the majority doesnt matter to them.
 
I'm officially bored with Rush. It's getting harder and harder to find a balanced server where one team isn't getting rolled or the rank balance is out of whack. I know that happens on Conquest servers too but at least you can do some lone wolf stuff on Conquest.

Why don't they do something meaningful like scramble the teams after each set (attacking/defending)? They could do it by squads that way if you're playing with friends, your group would just switch with you.

Man, the shotty slug/mag ammo hit detection is officially FUBAR.............

There are server scripts that Admins can use to make this happen. Does your favourite server have a website or contact e-mail? Ask them if they've considered it, express interest in it. If enough people ask them to use it they probably would. I know I've talked about using that for our servers, and if we had enough pubs asking about it I'm sure we'd have done it already. It's one of those things where you don't want to upset people who come to your server to play together and split them up, but you also don't want one team to lose constantly(the more they lose, the more people leave from that team and not the winning team, so new joiners almost inevitably join the losing team). The scripts I've seen are supposed to scramble the squads between the teams(keeping the squads in-tact), but I haven't seen one in action so I don't know how well they work. The Autobalance script we have sometimes doesn't work, so who knows if the same thing would happen with a scramble script.
 
You guys bitching about them making the shotgun/slug combo erratic....how many have actually fired this combo IRL?
Putting rifle sights on these is merely a suggestion as far as where the round MIGHT go, and they have the ballistics of a mortar.
The way they had it before was absolutely ludicrous-to think that they could out-pinpoint a scoped bolt action rifle at any range was stupid.

Using real life to compare to video games when talking about game balance is one of the worst ideas ever; yet people do this shit ALL THE TIME. When was the last time you could run forever in real life weighed down by 100+ pounds of gear? When was the last time you were able to reload a AT4? Regenerate health to a perfectly normal state in less than a minute after getting shot 5 times by an assault rifle? Ran around at full speed with no ill effects in full gear after getting shot almost to death? Were able to fire a rocket in an enclosed room without fucking up yourself and your buddies from the backblast? Deploy a parachute fully in the space of a 10 foot fall? Reload your mag exactly from a magic bullet pool without wasting any bullets in less than 8 seconds? Carry a rocket launcher, 8 rockets, a pistol, an smg, a knife, a power drill, and 8 mags on your person.... and run around at full speed while wearing body armor? Pull bullets, rockets, and grenades out of a tiny plastic box endlessly? Rapidly repair a tank under fire from another tank in combat endlessly by rubbing a spinning drill on the opposite side of it from where the damage is being inflicted? Make enemies show up for everyone on your side with red triangles that show where they are through walls just by shouting over a radio? Revived a teammate to full health and combat readiness from 12 gun shot wounds by zapping him with a defibrillator, only to watch him get hit directly by a rocket, and then reviving him to full health and combat readiness again with another zap from a defibrillator?

Clearly this game is based on real life, and it's mechanics have been balanced thusly!

so did i. amazing how dumb people are. after the 2nd death i would of figured it out and quit. i mean come on it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out whats going on.

Hahaha! Fuck yeah! Bloody hate sniper campers. As someone noted; DICE named the class "Recon" this time round, and at that task a sniper can be damn effective. One good sniper competent with motion mines + extra ammo perk will change which side wins a round.

It's depressing how so few snipers realise that using the motion mines gets them easy bling. Almost as bad as a team full of Carl Gustaving noobtoobers who've long forgotten the repair tool they're carrying. Can't tell you how annoying it is to be sitting in a dying tank surrounded by dumbass engineers who have no clue what to do. That and running after assault guys pistolling them in the back trying to get them to drop ammo. Can't they hear the "I need ammo" call?! Fucking idiots. God, who got me started? Oh yeah, that vid... *watches again* Ahhhhhh ... feels much better now ... :cool:

impossible to kill the thing with C4. What's next? Can't destroy the destructable buildings containing an mcom?

Instead of nerfing mcom damage they should have just made mcoms repairable by engies. Would have made it harder to do the cheesy thing like shooting it with rockets, but would have still let explosives like c4 be a viable strategy of done right. It would also give thr engie a bigger role in levels with fewer vehicles.

Too bad they forgot to nerf anti-tank mine damage against MCOMs. Tried playing several rounds today and every time I was on the defending team, two attackers would run up, place anti-tank mines (while not being shot at.. go figure), then wait for some unsuspecting defender to toss a grenade near them.
 
Needs to be more than 4 maps but yeah, nothing else out there that I will play apparently. I doubt the new COD will be more interesting to me at least.
 
wow only 4 maps? Sorry they already effed the game up last patch. They aren't getting another dime outta me. Guess I'll have to kill time with TF2 again.
 
Yeah that is the real killer with this series. Not allowing mods and not making new maps = zzz zzz zzz eventually.

If attackers in a rush game have an mcom charged, and the defending team kills off all your tickets, the round should remain going until the mcom detonated or is defused. A "last stand" for those still alive, if you will.

It's always so frustrating to get the last mcom charged and almost blown (thus advancing to next mcom or winning the game) only to have a couple morons in the back go afk or do a poor rush and draining your last couple tickets while you are waiting for the mcom to blow.

yeah RTCW:ET was the last game to ever do that. it gave you til the timer ended to disarm the last charge. "sudden death" was the best part about the game. even ET:QW didnt support it which was a bitch because the amount of effort it took to get to an objective to arm it was insane. makes BC2 look like kids play.

You can call it official - BC1 maps are coming to BC2. That is a BC1 map (Oasis apparently, never played BC1 myself as I don't have a console and never will). There is also a DICE test server playing a map called 'bc1_harvestday' or something along that lines.


the maps on BC1 were actually very good. i really hope its the huge open map BC1 had. that was bad ass.. basically you had this village in the middle of this valley. with trees running along the outside of the map. you had a tank and apc on each side. you could run on the outside as a sniper and sit along the tree's and snipe. god that was a fun map. would have some crazy sniper duels across the map while everyone else was fighting it out in the center of the map.

nope didnt have any crashing or freezing issues.

Did this patch throw anyone else's framerate in the crapper?

nope my frame rates are pretty consistent around 45fps. before firing a tank would kill my frame rate but now that theres no tracer from the round being fired(piece of shit DICE) its one less thing loading so my frame rate barely changes.
