AV Auditing - Help Me Choose!

I am not trying to stir up a flamefest. I merely want to find an effective, lightweight antivirus program to provide some minimal level of protection for my computers (I don't need anything else, not a firewall, anti-spyware or any of those "combo" suites). The only price I'll accept right now is free, but if there is a product out there worth buying feel free to mention it.

I currently run AVG Free Edition 8.0 on both rigs in my sig. The desktop runs Vista Ultimate SP1 x64 and the laptop has Vista Business SP1 x86.

You'll find some good recommendations in there, as I'm looking to move to x64 an people started chiming in on what they were using in their 64bit environment. From what I heard Avira (Free) and NOD32 ($50/year) came highly recommended.
