For those who have actual seat time in a heavy racecar (Production), what software has the best "feel"? Good physics.

Anyone play PC based race software? Can't kill everyone with a machine gun, sometimes you want to run them over.

PS - Everything has simulators now. Sadly it's hard to get reviews from people who drive about the auto racing games.

Pretty sure products by companies other than Apple with a lower case i actually outnumber those made by Apple.

Why? Because it wore his shit for a video on YouTube? I'm sure it was a joke.

If you are really practicing, the comfort of your safety gear is a piece of the equation. Your mobility and vision are lower when suited up and strapped.

Extreme but if that dude can heal toe in a real car like he can on that sim I bet he's a damn good driver.

Actually, he's just mashing the brake all the way to the bottom which makes it a lot easier, but in reality the car would be locking it's brakes or the ABS would be kicking in. That's what I suck at with heel-toe both in games and in real life, actually maintaining the optimal brake pressure throughout, if (because of assists) you can just mash the brake pedal, it's not nearly as hard.

DOH!!

I thought that was a joke. Sorry. I'll give that a shot.

iAnything is usually Apple.

iRacing, despite the silly name, is as close to a real racing car as you can get in your living room. It's a subscription based, massively multiplayer service that is unparalleled in physics accuracy and force feedback detail. It's structured in a way that allows you to work your way up through different disciplines of racing (both road and oval), developing speed and racecraft as you rank up-just like a real racing driver (and in fact, many notable racing drivers compete in iRacing).

Here are a few videos to whet your appetite.

Wow, I just might break out my fenetec wheel for iRacing.. The poor thing hasn't seen much use recently.

yep, iracing, best racing sim out there I think, rfactor is another one, I think rfactor 2 is coming out soon as well. There is live for speed too, the gtr series, race 07 series... but I think iracing is the best, gets expensive though. subscription which gives you a handful of tracks and cars, but then you have to purchase additional tracks and cars, for 12-15 dollars each. All cars and tracks are laser scanned for accuracy, physics are great. Get a good wheel and a triple monitor setup and its bliss :)

here is my setup :)

Love the PVC setup. Well done!

I use to race LFS a lot but have since left the driving sims. Most of my old teammates race in iRacing now and they love it.

That is a sexy mouse pad! Where did you get it from? :p

I may be wrong, but that looks like a Ratzpad they sell here on (H)ardforum. Still a very nice setup... :)
