I have a mbp 15" and a 24" dell 1920 by 1200 display- is there a way to enable something in leopard that ill resize th windows according to the monitor that is connect? I hate resizing everything as soon as the bigger monitor is connected or disconnected.

This program doesn't resize (but this a Mac, you don't maximize most windows anyway 
but Forget-Me-Not is awesome. Not Leopard compatible yet though.
FMN remembers where all your windows were depending on your monitor setup, so if Firefox was on the external in the upper left corner but lower right on the builtin display when no external, it'll position the window in those positions depending on whether the external is plugged in or not.
