Following on the heels of the Audeze Mobius gaming headset is this big, premium looking and premium priced "audiophile headphone", the Audeze LCD-GX ($899 USD), which was announced a few days ago:

The LCD-GX is supposedly based on the venerable Audeze LCD-MX4 ($2995 USD).

As a certain KB would probably say, "for $899, this had better be a DAAANG good gaming headphone" ...

This headphone is now on my short list for purchase/review (yes, yes, I promise I'll have my Mobius review up -- work is still snowballing me under ...)

Now this is far more interesting than the mobius. Thanks for the heads up.

Somehow I think of the Sennheiser HD800 when I think of audiophile gaming headphone. After all I would think soundstage would be a big deal for gaming, and Audeze headphones are kind of in your face.

Yeah, I myself think of "end-game, summit-fi, Everest-tier gaming headphones" as the HD 800/800s, some top-tier Stax model (possibly a modded SR-009), Sonoma Model One, and so on. Not so much Audeze, as much as I like their headphones for music/movies.

Basically, high-end headphones that are so good, that they override any other "limitations" in terms of gaming.

I've never tried out the Audeze LCD-MX4, so I'm very curious as to what this "reworked, gaming style" brings to the table.
