Every time I try and send a message to someone via e-mail it says they don't wish to be contacted via e-mail. I even tested it by trying and sending an e-mail to myself and it said this user doesn't wish to be contacted by e-mail. Can you take a look to see if it is functioning properly. THNXS
 
click on your Usercp.. and look under EDIT OPTIONS .. if the box in the messaging and notifications area for Receive Email from Other Members isnt checked then thats why..

Why has it been disabled? In my options its enabled was it being abused or something?
 
It was disabled years ago and never reinstated after the forum was rebuilt about a year and a half ago. It was a resource hog and the decision was made not to enable it simply because the majority of members didn't want to have their email addresses listed publicly. I would rather have the [H] known for it's speed and stability rather than how well it's email between members works ;)
 
They should take the option of then will it be there when the new site is up and running?
 
No, see, the new site was build a year and a half ago..they did not enable the feature in the admin control pannel, so in your control pannel, it makes no diffrence
 
Thats what I mean its confusing I didn't know it was permantly disabled. I was asking when the new site is up and running will they have messaging via e-mail I think it would be convient and if they don't will they option to disable and enable it be taken out so it doesn't confuse anyone especially new members.
