Here's the dealio.

Trying to install slackware 10.2.

Just fiddling, really. About 200 mhz with an 8 gig hard drive.

We partitioned nad ran through the installation. We reboooted
and we get "Error loading OS"

I think we partitioned wrong, what kind of partions do we need, as well as size information.

k thx

I'd say create a 32MB partition at /boot 1st, then a 7GB / partition, then give the rest to /swap.

Make / and /boot type 83 partitions, and make /swap a type 82 partition. 83 is just the regular linux native parition type, and 82 is the swap partition.

Later on you can choose what fs type you want to use for / and /boot, probably ext3 is fine.

Did you successfully complete installing LILO as your bootloader from their install steps?
