Well I just got off the phone...530am..with HP and they told me there is a known problem with running BACKUPS/MOUNTING and using W7. I have another thread going here about my freezing problems and how I thought maybe it was my server. Thats why i called HP.

So basically the guy told me to NOT run backups and they are waiting on MS to issue Power Pack 3 which will supposedly fix this problem. He said on some machines it will work and others not...On my 32 bit install I have no problems but on the 64 its a no go..locks everything up.
Just thought I would pass that on.

I don't have any issues with my laptop running Win7 and WHS. Runs just like it did with Vista. Installed the connector and everything just worked.

I am not having any issue myself. I have 5 PCs using W7 and backing up with out an issue.

I have two of my systems on Win 7 x64 and have had no problems with my HP EX485 or these systems.

I can also see all my shared directories as well. Running Windows 7 Pro x64. Not sure what this tech is talking about some "known" issue.

I can say all my boxes are 64 bit and still no issues. At worse I have a PC that backs up out side of teh time frame I set. but no issues no hanging no lock ups.

The Windows Home Server blog stops just short of officially recommending that you install Power Pack 3 Beta if you are having issues with Windows 7 or not, if you have Windows 7 machines as clients.

For the optimal experience of running Windows 7 PCs on a Windows Home Server network, we point you to our Microsoft Connect site to download the current beta release of Power Pack 3: https://connect.microsoft.com/WindowsHomeServer.
