I currently have a PNY Nvidia 5500 video card in my computer, but I grabbed my friend's ATI 9200 from his computer when he upgraded to a ATI 9600 (we upgraded at the same time, but I didn't have the money for the higher end card).

Which card should I use in my computer? (or which card will be better off until I get enough money to upgrade?)

id stick with the gf5500. correct me if im wrong but i tink the 5500 is going to be a bit faster than the 9200 even if the 9200 was O/Ced.

I believe that the 5500 is clocked at 270 with a fan on the CPU, and the 9200 is clocked at 250 with no fan...

The 9200 is 8.1 and the 5500 claims to be 9.0 (but we all know that that isn't true for games).

However, changing from one card to the other consists of changing brand names with the drivers in your OS. I wouldn't bother changing from either of those two cards to the other... The 5500 might be better able to show movies and play media type files because MS is pushing the higher DX player, but that's a secondary issue I'm sure.

If the 5500 is working trouble free, don't touch it until you have enough money to buy something substantially better.

Okay.

I'll see if I can OC it a bit though.

SOME 9200s have fans. my gigabyte 9200 has a fan and it OCed pretty well. from stock 250/200 to 315/245 stable. if there isnt a fan you can just buy a tiny 40mm(is it 40mm??) fan and just screw it on and connect it to a molex.
