I want to buy ASUS X99-A II motherboard. My intention to make use a multimedia and workstation PC up to 128GB RAM. I saw the list of supported Xeon E5 v3 CPU on Asus website but I cannot locate the exact CPU model " Xeon E5 2676 v3" which has 12 vCPU. Asus website also says Xeon usage on X99 board may have some limitation but I cannot find this detail. Has anyone done this kind of setup or know the detail for this? Thank you

I believe the 2673v3 is an OEM processor not for retail sale, whilst it should work there are no guarantees that there may be the odd incompatability in a BIOS. To be fair though asus are pretty good at supporting unknown xeons on their boards. If you are building a high end workstation though with xeon's in mind what about the X99 E WS? ity supports xeons out the box so will stand a better chance of working with a 2673 v3 cpu
