Okay, I'm looking at the specs for these two and they don't seem all that different. Apple most likely will lock their A5 at a higher clock, but how much difference is a couple MHz?

Asus Transformer
CPU: NVidia Tegra 2 1GHz (dual-core ARM Cortex A9)
GPU:
ULP Geforce 300MHz (OpenGL 2)
Memory: 1GB
Storage: 16GB/32GB
GPS: Internal GPS
OS: Android 3.X

Apple iPad
CPU: 1GHz dual-core Apple A5 (customized Cortex A4)
(new iPad2 is suppose to be customized Cortex A8 or A9)
GPU: PowerVR SGX 535 (OpenGL 2.1)
Memory: 256MB? Not sure on this.
Storage: 16GB/32GB/64GB
GPS: Assisted GPS
OS: Apple iOS

I mean, is there really much of a difference if I'm just using it for some browsing and RDP? I don't really care about the 3G/4G which is why I chose the Asus Transformer. So what's the dealio?

the big difference is the OS, hardware wise they are similar I guess.....btw the Transformer has Android 3.0 not 2.3 ....

I thought it was on 3.1 now. One reason I'm really liking the idea of getting a transformer is this: emulators+dock+360 controller= 12ish hour portable emulator machine. :D
