OMG, they actually created a tool to help you identify which ports you are using….

This so crazy.... but I've got to applaud ASUS more for this.

Even though I already knew, just for fun I tried the GA one and it worked fine on my Asus board. Unfortunately I have a RAID 1 array and have no choice but to use the affected ports.

MSI has something similar in their downloads section, haven't tried it... I've actually left my optical drive unplugged for now, only thing I use it for is ripping movies and music anyway. Got the SSD and the data drive hooked up to the good ports. Tho I'm shopping for a USB 3.0 enclosure to replace my e-SATA/USB 2.0 enclosure. Figured I'd do it eventually anyway, I just use it for a backup drive and going USB 3.0 will clear some cable clutter (no need for an e-SATA bracket); plus I'll be using the e-SATA enclosure elsewhere.
