Got mine in on Thursday. Apart from some back light bleed/IPS glow the monitor is near perfect. Quite like it.

Can you guys post some pics and more impressions of this? They have this at microcenter for $1300 and was seriously thinking about getting this. Is gsync perfect on this with 980 ti? I'm coming from 27" 1080p 120hz Samsung.

I'm on a single 980Ti as well. My information overload says you and I might be able to swing this but we'd definitely be dumbing settings down.

Something like this may be overkill for someone like me who staying single GPU and likely sticking with the 980Ti for the forseeable future.

I am a bit of a pickle with monitors as well. As much as I love the idea of a curved monitor with g-sync I just cannot get my mind around paying 1300 for one of these.
But the alternatives are not much better. If I want a bigger than 24" g-sync monitor I start playing the numbers game and it is a lose lose situation. I don't want to pay 700 - 800 for a 27" monitor either.

I will either bite the bullet and get this or I will just get a Vive. I just don't know yet.

My experience with the XB271HU was that with use the panel glow was reduced. It never quite went away. Problem with this panel is that the glow is orange whereas, on XB271HU it was silver. Overall, I think if there is little to no light in the room, the panel works just fine. With light the glow becomes noticeable as light also bounces off the matt screen. Glow is only noticeable on blacks (similar to Witcher 3 below or COD BLOPS 3 intro videos etc.)
All in all, it is quite a big upgrade from the XB271HU so quite happy with the purchase.
I am happy that my panel does not suffer from OTHER major issues like:
    - Dead pixels
    - Back light bleed
    - Coil whine on whites
    - Uniformity issues
    - Unable to hit 100Hz overclock
    - Scanlines (I can only see scanlines in pendulum demo at 20 FPS; disappear at 30+ and only when my eyes are 2 cm away; otherwise can't see them at normal viewing distance).
So that is also the reason why I did not try a second panel lol.

Here is what I am seeing.
Witcher 3 shot directly from iPhone camera (overexposed image).
Witcher 3 video screenshot (actual what I am seeing).
    Black screen test (video screenshot)

Given my experience with XB271HU, I am assuming that the IPS glow/bleed will go away with time.

    Thanks for the awesome post.

The glow is a concern given the price, I can see it in the pic. I imagine it is more prevalent in person.
Still the dark pic looks really clean.

Still on the fence but I appreciate the informative post and the effort you put into it.

Every panel has glow. You cannot avoid it. I am going to use a micro fiber cloth to message the screen and see if it goes away. As I said earlier, it was quite minimal on my XB271HU after a month of use. Also, if you see posts on overclock.net you will notice that my panel is actually quite a lot better than others. Glow is a function of distance and viewing angle. In the dark it is actually less prevalent.
    Examples of worse cases.

Really nice examples. I would be more than happy with results like that, I don't really get why monitors are such a QC shit show these days but it seems like you're rolling the dice on every make and model.

FYI, this is now $1,199 at Microcenter. I know because I bought one today.

Holy shit, this thing is awesome. Very immersive. I've been playing The Division for the last 5 hours. With a 980ti and most of the settings untouched from before, I get around 45-50 fps. It's still very playable. Maybe that's the Gsync? I've never tried Gsync before, but it still feels smooth.

My only issue I couldn't figure out was how to overclock it to 100hz, or even any overclock. Yes I enabled it on the control panel. I then went into Nvidia control panel to see if I could select a higher refresh, but the max was always 60hz. Can anyone give me a 'for dummies' an exact step by step how to enable the overclock?

I don't see any dead pixels, or see any back light bleed (well I haven't tried any tests), no coil whine, whatever that is. I just know it looks awesome and plays awesome. Yes pricey, but very cool, especially for something you're staring at every day.

That would definitely be the G-Sync giving you that smooth experience.

Did you just turn overclocking on in the OSD? Because you also have to specify the maximum refresh rate you want in the same menu. Once you set the maximum refresh rate the screen should automatically reboot, at which point the higher refresh rates should be selectable in the NVIDIA Control Panel. If they're not, try using the Turbo button on the bezel (first button above the power button).

Thank you for the help, I will try that when I get home from work.

After 2 days I'm still happy I bought this. It really does look fantastic. I can't stop playing division. Like everyone else says, once you see that ultrawide it's tough to go back to anything else.

Armenius, did you decide if you are getting this monitor yet? I am still unsure.

I was eyeing the 43" Philips, but user reviews look a bit sketchy. I believe I am going to purchase one the next time it shows up in stock.

This thing was apparently shipped and on the way to me, I ordered it 5 months ago and actually cancelled and was also told I would be notified when it became available. They charged my account $1300 and its supposed to arrive on Friday...I've since already gotten a new monitor and have to return it

.. you know..I dont understand people. You pay $1300+ and I keep reading "bleed is not that bad".. WOW..

1st.. IPS GLOW..will NEVER go away nor the bleed in the corners. "BLEED" unless YOU take off the front and work on it. I bought teh Samsung 34"...not IPS.. yet there is "0" bleed anywhere. ITs mixed VA TN.. and its far better then when it 1st came out. Even this has a slight "glow". But I took it because I LOVE the blacks.. if you know the difference between IPS and VA.. you know what I am talking about.

My point is...man its YOUR money. Next time you go to one of those SHOWS..you try to find ANY blacklight bleed on that NEW monitor coming out.. you wont find any. So SENT IT BACK! Expect something for your money. As long as people say nothing.. they are REALLY HAPPY.. I cant tell you how many times just over this one monitor.. Even Prat talks about the slight bleed.. and fuzzy.. anyway.. its your money.

What are you saying Zeblade? You are appauled that people are paying $1300+ for IPS glowing edges. Then you say that you made a better choice because your VA Samsung doesnt bleed. Then next sentence you say that it does 'glow' which is something that you say your VA panel doesnt have.

In the end, I am a believer that people see others complaining about the glowing edges, and then they think its their purpose to find glowing edges so they can complain as well. If no one said anything, no one on these forums would even notice the edge bleed unless the tension was wrong at the factory and the light is not balanced over the back of the panel.

Mine arrived from Amazon today, after 3 months, and so far so good. I'm not going to go into a forensic search for defects because apart from checking for bad pixels (none, yay!) everything else is well within my day-to-day tolerances, which is a relief. The only time I thought I'd noticed the bleed, it turned out the be the blue gradient at the top of the Steam window...

Although, the stand is terrible. You either need a deep desk or want to have your nose up against the screen, because that stupid little back leg sticks out about 3" for no reason. I don't have a deep desk, but I do have a basic replacement stand ordered. The projected logo thing on the original was turned off after about 5 minutes, so it's not like I'll miss that.

It's a lovely screen, though. I like how shallow the curve is.

Gonna buy this at Microcenter tomorrow. They already told me they will let me open it right there on the store to test it out and make sure the panel is not a dud.

Ended up having a crisis of conscience and bought the PG279 instead. I'll jump on the ultrawide bandwagon once they have the newest iterations of DisplayPort/HDMI and can go above 100hz. Also better QC and price. I can afford it but it still feels like it needs improvement, while the PG279 is a panel at its peak. Got a flawless unit too.

-Bleed is very minimal, pic above is over exposed. Unnoticeable in normal use
    -No scan lines
    -100hz no issues
    -No coil whine
-Coming from an Asus PG279Q I definitely notice a difference between 165hz and 100hz. The 27" Asus feels WAY faster.

Must of got lucky here, near perfect panel. Oddly enough the monitor or the stand is uneven as the monitor isn't level, tilts to the left and no way to fix it or adjust it outside of a VESA mount :\

Well he said "defiantly," which sounds like he was purposefully looking for the difference :p.
