I decided to do a clean Win 7 install and I was following Sean's Windows 7 Install & Optimization Guide for SSDs & HDDs as a guide.

He recommends to use the "native" intel controller for an SSD, as opposed to the 3rd party, in my case Marvell controller.

I'm not using any type of raid array.

So I was grabbing all the most up to date drivers for my mobo over at ASUS USA.

However, I didn't see any driver for the ICH10R Controller. I saw a Marvell controller driver.

What should I do here? Should I use the ICH10R without any updated driver? Or connect my SSD to the Marvell controller with updated drivers?

I think my rig is still in my sig...

I'm a fool I guess.

I found what I think might be the driver I want on intel's site.
Drivers & Software

I'm assuming I want the RST and AHCI Driver and GUI for Win 7? Version 11.6.0.103

....
So confused

Correct - that's the driver that you want to use. Don't use Marvell
Sadly i see that your SSD doesn't support TRIM

The Old X-25's have such high quality nand that trim isn't really even necessary for them most of the time. They have a very well tuned garbage collection schema.
