FYI for those of you that might have an Asus Rampage V Extreme motherboard.
Asus released a beta BIOS on 2019-07-17 version 4101 that includes new microcode updates for Spectre/Meltdown.
This new BIOS allows CPU overclocking settings that were configured in UEFI to once again take effect in Windows 10 version 1903.
The previous BIOS for the R5E, version 3902, did not allow any overclocking to work in Windows 10 version 1903 by default when using a Broadwell CPU. There were some workarounds to get overclocking to work, but they were not ideal.
The 6850K I have installed in this motherboard is once again running at a mild 4.2 GHz OC with no Win 10 fiddling required to do so.
