ASUS PG279Q 144hz 1440P IPS G-Sync

Just ordered a Acer XB270HU for 598.00 no tax special

sorry asus but from the rumor i have heard you are using the same panel as the MG279q and your ULMB is not as good as the Acer XB270HU

Since the ROG PB279q wont be out for another 2 months and for 800.00

big no no

Where the hell did you get the XB270HU for $598? Its a $798 monitor.....

**Nevermind... I am assuming you picked up one of the refurbs that were available with a discount code?

I do not want free sync..I'm talking about waiting for the asus version of the Acer monitor. It will have all the same features but better bezel stand etc...

The 2 monitors are practically identical when it comes to what the panel offers. For PC gaming there is really only ONE reason why I would recommend anyone to pick the Asus over the Acer and that is due to the glossy bezels which some may find to be distracting. Here's a pic of mine being used at night and you can clearly see the image being reflected off the top inner bezel and the same thing happens with the bottom bezel as well. If you think that this will drive you absolutely nuts then wait for the Asus, otherwise if you're fine with this then by all means pull the trigger on the Acer now.

id gladly take an acer for 598+ 12 .00 cashback no tax free shipping versus asus so called PB279Q which wont be out for another 2 months and even then will you be able to get one. You know newegg, amazon etc will be charging shipping for this monitor when it first comes out. MSRP 800+

I will put 3 year square trade on my refurb acer and just avoid acer after my refurb warranty expires

anyone with an XB270HU do you recommend gsync on or off when playing CS Go?

I'm wondering why all the Acer buyers feel the need to come into this thread and crap on it. Is it possible that they are afraid that they should have waited for the Asus? ;)

it's just senile unrealcpu.

Waiting for Asus. I almost went through with ordering the Acer but yeah that glossy bezel would bother me.

When has Amazon started charging shipping? Never seen a new product has a shipping charge directly from Amazon. Well I do have Prime, but the savings I get there already pay for shipping charges. Maybe you're confusing third party sellers with Amazon?

Yeah i meant newegg charging shipping on new products such as the 980ti or MG279q. As far as amazon is concerned they will make you wait 1-2 months before it is available for shipping so prime doesnt help much there. Either eay once the pb279q is released newegg will charge msrp about 800.00+ shipping and it wont be available on amazon probably until October .

So yeah 598.00 for a xb270hu is a hell of a deal and is widely available now.

I think this is going to be at the top of my waiting list. I wish it were out now.

Yeah. If nothing else, so the price could drop a bit in the coming months. I'm looking forward to seeing it. If it's not all that great, I'll go with the Acer.

Just saw this on Amazon.

I wonder if this still gives us a hint of something. I *think* this monitor and it's "G" brother were supposed to come out fairly close together.

July 31 - Aug. 4 when you choose Expedited Shipping at checkout.

No idea if there's anything there for us except I'm getting the idea that August is when several outlets like TFT Central and some others may get some review monitors and one or both of these Asus' may be there.

That's good.

Anyway, the statement in the article seems to suggest that it will NOT be using the same panel as the Acer.

Curious.

sounds like an excuse to wait for nvidia to release a new gsync module with HDMI. By the time it hits the states it will be Thanksgiving and probably be sold out until christmas.
Until then i will enjoy my XB270HU. If they solve the IPS glow and increase the black levels i would consider selling. I have a feeling the specs will be about the same 144hz , ULMB 120hz, etc.. Could care less about the bezel

Wow first we went from 120 to 144Hz. Now from 144 to 165 :O Would anyone even be able to tell the difference between 144 and 165Hz though?

Didn't realize there was a thread for this monitor - lol.

I'm guessing it'll be very difficult to tell from 144 to 165 but maybe from 120 to 165, you might notice a small difference in better image clarity (less blurring)?

Acer just announced a 200Hz monitor but unfortunately 2560x1080. Now I wanna see a 200Hz version of one of these 1440p IPS beasts lol. DP 1.3 maybe?
