the color range setting is definitely not going to create a problem like that.
Checked...and nope. Calibration issue?
I am sure i am missing a couple things to check before RMA/resturn.
Thanks for checking! Guess I'm going for a replacement.
It's definitely an uniformity issue in this case, noticeably higher color temperature on the right hand side of the panel. I can deal with uniformity not being perfect, but this & the top being darker (which seems to be common) means it's going back.
whats the readings with your calibrator? it would be interesting to see the difference
No longer own one, unfortunately.
Mine was delivered yesterday, before i even expected it. Didn't have too much time to play with it, but did that test from few pages back looking for dead pixels and lo and behold - nothing.
Everything seems to be ok, nothing major i can notice so far, but when i have time i'll have to go through TFT's calibration settings and play with them a little. Played a round or two of BF4 and Black Ops 3 to try it a bit, and dear God, gsync is really another level of enjoyment. Super smooth. Coming from BenQ 120Hz TN panel this is major upgrade in every way possible. So far i'm happy camper. Good luck to the rest of you waiting for your screens to arrive.
the screen or calibrator? If you don't own a calibrator how did you finish troubleshooting.......![]()
Try ULMB? if so what are your thoughts. I am dying to see it in action and curious how it would look on action movies because those always look like crap to me
I hope you're right, but I noted that this item wasn't marked as eligible for Premiere benefits. So I'm not sure our return shipping will be covered. I guess we'll see (but hopefully it won't come up!).I just ordered one from Newegg. Since I have an EDU email address I signed up for the 1 free year of premier just in case. Basically if this comes in and is actually OK I will be sending my Dell s2716DG to Amazon since it has pixel inversion issues. If it sucks I can send it back to Newegg for free thanks to premier. I'm honestly expecting to end up with someones return but it's worth a shot.

I ordered one from New Egg Canada; it should arrive next Monday or Tuesday. I can pick a Acer XB270HU, Asu PG278Q or Dell S2716G to test it against as well, but I'm not sure which. Testing the Dell would be more beneficial to my pathetic Youtube views, and there are no decent 1440p AHVA versus TN comparisons yet. I'll use some of the same photos with single, vertical space covering colours so people can see the gamma shift like I did with the XL2420G versus Qnix PLS comparison I made.
I'm returning mine due to the luminance issue. I thought I could live with it but it's gotten more noticeable to me, especially when going back and forth between this and my LG UM95 (been using both in a dual monitor config) for desktop use.
I don't notice it at all during gaming but I didn't buy this for a single purpose.
The top 1/3 quadrant of the monitor looks about twice as dark as my UM95, same brightness level and everything.
Sorry to hear that. Are you going to try again?
That sounds like the other guys panel. Se all should post s3rials to see if we get the same unit from another return lol.So I received my monitor from Newegg tonight and I was expecting the worst. Going off of things I've seen on overclock.net the September monitors (which mine is) are worse than the October ones. I also noticed my box has a QC passed sticker on it and was clearly resealed which once again were bad signs according to others.
My first impressions upon plugging it in were the colors and viewing angles are much nicer than the Dell as would be expected. Loading up some full white screens revealed some flaws. The top 1/3 of the is definitely darker than the rest. There is also a small cluster on the bottom left (basically an 3/4" toward the center of the screen, just above the task bar) that is overly bright on light backgrounds. There are no dead pixels however. Loading up a black screen shows a minimal amount of bleed which is nice. I would definitely call it acceptable in that regard.
My main concern with this monitor was having a yellow/orange glow to it which this particular one seems to lack. The top 1/3 being slightly darker doesn't bother me much and I doubt I will ever notice it in the real world. The bright spot is a concern but once again it is in a spot where I don't know if I will notice it much. I should absolutely return it based on that but I don't know if its worth playing the lottery and getting something even worse. It's pretty sad I even have to say that.
I'm going to use it for a few days before I make my decision. Others reported more bleed after using the monitor for a bit so I will see if that happens. I definitely prefer this monitor over the Dell which makes complete sense as IPS should be better than a TN but I need to decided if I can either live with these defects or want to continue playing the lottery for a perfect one.
I'll get some pictures up tonight or tomorrow night depending on when my SLR battery finishes charging.
Did both of these recent arrivals from newegg ship from New Jersey?
No "QC Passed" on mine. Appears to be the original seal.
Does this monitor exhibit the yellow IPS glow that happens on the XB270HU?
