I can run an E5-2695v2 on my P9X79? Hmm... Asus says I can. Damn you. Now I'm tempted to go buy one for my old rig. P9X79 deluxe + 64GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3-1600 + i7-3820. 12 cores would be good for some lock-free multithreaded client-server programming fun/practice and much cheaper than a 3900X setup. Call it a continuing education expense.
This might also screw up the Arctic MX2 endurance test I inadvertently started 8 years ago. Applied April 2012 and it's still working just fine. The Knights Who Test TIM will punish you for this! They don't have the patience for an 8+ year test.
