ASUS M4A87TD Evo - X6

I heard this board can run X6 chips out of the box as it's a new board but does anyone know for sure if that's the case?

Looks like a pretty decent board for a $100-110 price tag!
 
Hmm noticed that as well afterwards. Possibly Neweggs stock is with the newer BIOS.

What someone told me is it boots with an X6 as unrecognized but needs the BIOS update to get full functionality. But yeah, not sure if I want to risk that without another AMD chip to flash it.
 
Hmm, just found out this board came out recently and does support an X6. Probably going to pick it it up this week and see how it goes.

Or I might be picking up an MSI 870A-G54. As both are just newly released boards, an X6 should work out of the box. Decisions...
