Current Asus video card overheating. Bought another one from Ebay seller came out of a Clevo W860CU laptop, bought for $39. It works just fine without updates. The card is smaller but heatsink and X bracket fit partially. Three of the heatsink screws mounted fine and card screw to motherboard used only one.
Thought about upgrade but to expensive for HD6970 card so opt for same HD5870 card. Asus didn't recommend doing it but out of warranty now, took a chance. Asus did say via email that the video bios was in the main system bios. I thought video (vBios) was needed but apparently not.
Current temp is 54 degrees C.
Gaming temp Bioshock Infinite it avg is 87 degrees C at fan rate of 30%. No video hesitation.
