Asus DCII 780ti Waterblock on Asus Strix 980 ?

It looks like the only problem that may occur, would be if some of the components on the 980 board are taller vs the 780ti board.

The main difference I can tell from looking at those pics would be the dual 8pin connectors on the 780ti board. Which shouldn't affect the block at all since they are larger than the 980 has. I also notice the 780ti has more memory chips around the GPU, so there should be plenty of room on the block to cool them.

I'm not saying 100% certain that it will fit. But if it was me, I'd give it a shot.

What waterblock do you have specifically?

In an EK one.

I'm pretty convinced now it'll work. My only other thought was maybe the GPU chip would be a slightly different height. But Kepler and Maxwell are both 28nm, so unlikely. Plus there's enough flex in the board to compensate.

The only question is, do I wait till summer when AMDs cards come out in hope of a price drop or just buy now and be happy?
