I'm looking for opinions on using the onboard sound versus a PCI sound card (Fortissimo 7.1 specifically) as far as gaming performance goes. I get the MB Thursday and will be rebuilding my system from scratch.
I have the same board in my second system. All I use is the on board sound when gaming. It works ok for me, but if I was going to listen to alot of CD, MP3's and such, I might want to get something else better.
If you have a choice then go for the soundcard try not to use on-board anything except LAN
on ASUS mobo's.
On-Board Sound can steal you FPS in the games you play.
