Hello guys, this is my first post here nice to meet you
.
I want to upgrade my old 20" TN monitor to something bigger and nicer.
I will be using the monitor mainly for MMO / action genre / console gaming, watching movies, and probably some programming work.
I researched for suitable monitor and found that IPS and VA are nice, but after researching a little bit more there are many factors that make me doubtful.
============================
These are monitors i can buy at my country and have reasonable price for it's features.
1. Dell S2740L
2. Dell S2440L
3. Dell U2412m
4. BenQ GW2750Hm
S2740L is pretty much my budget upper limit costing around 450USD (everything about computer is overpriced here
)
============================
And here are my doubts :
#1 : 27 inch @1080p
Peoples say that the text is not sharp and image quality is bad especially if you sit too close. I sit around 2ft from my old monitor, is it too close for 27 inch @1080p?
I can't afford 1440p 27" because it is too expensive and my GPU can't drive it at reasonable FPS at gaming (GTX 660).
#2 : PWM Free monitor
Is it a must have feature?
I don't know this before reading tftcentral and some threads here, and i actually don't know if i'm bothered by this / not but i read somewhere that it can reduce eyestrain which is NICE.
#3 : Glossy vs matte
I like glossy screen colors, but i'm afraid it will show too many reflections that it will bother me greatly(my room is quite bright at morning / noon if i open the window).
If i take matte display, the color will not come as great as glossy.
Should i take the glossy and try not to bother with the reflections?
============================
Those above monitors have some pros and cons that there is no perfect monitor that meet all the good point : PWM Free, Semi glossy, has very good color and viewing angles, and good for gaming
.
Sorry for being extremely picky, please advise which monitor is better for me, or should i wait for GW2760Hs that is very promising(i asked about this monitor to local distributor, they said it will cost around 500USD
).
