Feh, the powerchute software is crap. Yes, some versions of it have worked now and then, but more often than not it's seemed like a better idea to just avoid using it entirely. That and there's a generator on site, so the UPSes really only have to carry the systems for about 45 seconds. Most of the time they just handle brown-outs and quick blips.
Yes, units with a management card are a better idea, as would budgeting for them instead of the ones we've got. Hindsight and all that....
Depending on your unit(s), you can get either pulls or brand new management cards on eBay for as little as $30 for pulls and $50 for new, it is a cheap addon you can charge to your expense budget since you didn't plan last year and your capital budget going forward.
